In July 2019, Highlands Emergency Air Rescue & Transport replaced the Wings and Wellmont Health System branding that was previously used. Ballad Health asked us to create a new brand for the helicopter and its services that would complement the Ballad Health brand.
Creating a new brand that is minimally connected to an existing, highly visible regional brand like Ballad Health is challenging. Many ideas were considered, but the solution from our designers was to pull colors from Ballad Health’s color palette to subtly make the connection.
We created a stylized “H” with a wings icon using three of the Ballad Health colors and added various weights of Ballad Health’s typeface in all uppercase to complete the logo. The logo is used on the helicopter and other associated materials.
